Why is it that
When I speak
I cannot draw my eyes
Off of your lips?
And when at last I look up at you,
You do not meet my gaze.
For your eyes are strongly fixed
Upon my mouth.
So why must we stop our eyes
From speaking up
And interrupting our words
For a kiss?
